My Father is the greatest man I've ever known! My mother had a severe stroke which left her paralyzed 2 years ago. He takes care of her 24 hours a day! I love them both with all my heart! I would do whatever he would let me, but he is very independent.

Donna's son, Shannon. has suffered for more than the last 26 months from a brain tumor,its removal, and the dreadful aftermath of radiation necrosis. She has never left his side, has sought the best medical care, although she,heself, is disabled. So far it has been Five years of caregiving for her mother while her sibling does nothing. She cheerfully spends 30-35 hrs per week with her mother. In one year, her mother's MiniMental State Exam showed a jump from 19/30 to 23/30. The doctors like to take credit for things like this but it is the caregivers that make sure their loved ones are well cared for.

These two boys take care of my dad when I'm at my internship finishing up my degree. My boys prepare lunch for him, give him his medicine, and most of all keep him from feeling depressed.
