Henry County Garbage Collection Information
Welcome New Rumpke Customer,
Henry County Fiscal Court has awarded Rumpke of Kentucky, Inc. an exclusive franchise for trash collection outside of the
county's incorporated cities. The cities of Eminence, Pleasureville, Smithfield, New Castle and Campbellsburg are not included in this contract. This franchise covers
all residential and commercial trash services without dumpsters. Certain exceptions may apply for business owners who have commercial dumpsters (see guidelines). This
franchise begins January 1, 2004.
Rumpke is a family business with over sixty years experience and we are here to serve you. Please contact us at (800) 678-6753
or (502) 568-3800 if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to working with you. Rumpke observes two holidays a year, New Year's Day, January 1st
and Christmas Day, December 25th. If one of these holidays falls on or before your collection day that week, your collection day will be delayed by one day. For
example, January 1st, 2004 is on a Thursday. If your normal collection day is Thursday or Friday, collection for those two days will be Friday or Saturday,
respectively. Holidays that fall on the weekend will not affect your collection day.
If there are any errors in your billing name or address, please call so the proper changes may be made. Rumpke will bill you
quarterly, in advance, for $45.84 ($15.28 per month). NOTE: YOUR physical addresses is recorded for actual collection, however, if you have a
different BILLING ADDRESS (such as a PO BOX) please contact us and let us know.
Guidelines
- Place trash at the curb of your public road by 7:00 a.m. the day of your service. Usually this is near your mailbox.
- Acceptable waste containers are standard trash cans (30-32 gallons) [up to 6 cans or 10 bags], Rumpke waste wheelers, or standard
garbage bags. Rumpke is not responsible for destroyed or damaged garbage bags nor can we clean up from torn bags. Drums, barrels and small household waste
containers are not acceptable and will be disposed of as trash. For the best service, all household waste should be bagged and placed in a trash can with a lid.
This reduces the possibility of animal interference and weather related problems.
- For any questions or to contact us call (800) 678-6753 and press 1 for customer service or (502) 568-3800 (Louisville).
- If you own a business, either commercial or agricultural, and have dumpster service you may qualify to dispose of your personal
household waste in the dumpster. Ownership is defined as a resident business owner who's name appears on the deed of the property where the dumpster is located or
where the resident can provide proof of financial investment in the business. Up to four (4) resident business owners per business are eligible for this exemption.
Business owners with dumpsters need to provide names and residential addresses of all exempted parties to us, so we may remove those names from residential billing.
Please send this information by January 1, 2004 to: Rumpke, Attn: Exemption, 1101 West Oak Street, Louisville, KY 40210.
- People who are disabled may be offered special collection services, such as backdoor collection. You must apply at the Henry County
4-H building at the Tri-County Fairgrounds. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or contact them at 845-7808.
- The monthly fee for residential customers is $15.28. Commercial customers using their own trash cans (up to three (3) - 30 gallon
garbage cans) will pay a monthly fee of $18.00. Either a residential or commercial customer may lease a 95-gallon waste wheeler for $2.00 a month (or free if card
was submitted--call for details.)
